What's Hot

5 Battle-the-Heat Beauty Tips to Come Out Unscathed this Summer

We are more than excited that summer is round the corner- but we are also concerned about the inevitable wreckers of our bodies- humidity and heat.

We all love the sun. We would sit outside under the sun all day long without complaining. We want to dig our toes into the sandy beaches and frolic in the heat. Having said that, we always lose sleep over our sunburn, melting makeup, and frizzy hair, worrying how these factors determine the time we get to spend outside.

Here are a few tips and tricks which will keep you feeling and looking cool even in sweltering heat:

Tip #1
It’s time you left the streaky makeup alone. It’s that time of the year when investing in some waterproof eyeliners, concealers and mascaras will do you a world of good. You won’t go wrong sticking to some waterproof stuff this summer.

Tip #2
The last thing you want this summer is a messy hairstyle. Think about your poor tresses, and stop doing all that can stress out your hair. For example, you are going to have a hard time smoothing out the tangles of your long hair. So, get your hair cut short- trim it, shape it, do whatever you want. It’s fine as long as it is short, stylish and sweet. It is not as much trouble as long hair to boot. If you don’t like it short, you can put together that perfect up-do you have always dreamt of.

Tip #3
Give your skin a menthol blast using products that are meant to keep you cool. There are several products on the market that are cool to the touch when applied on your scalp, lips, skin etc. Try lightweight liquid lipstick rather than creamy lipstick. You don’t want to get a greasy lipstick smeared across your face.

Tip #4
Skimping on toners and serums might not help you this summer. You need to use different items to cleans, tone and treat your face. Stay away from cleaners that strip the skin.

  • Go gentle on your sensitive skin- use products that remove the grime without harming your skin.
  • Avoid using alcohol if you don’t want your skin to look oilier than before. Try an antibacterial toner that can soothe irritation or redness, or a soothing toner that has hydrating ingredients or a nourishing toner that uses fruit extracts to replenish the skin.
  • Use good serums that work in tandem with sunscreen to safeguard yourself from pollution and free radicals, which can cause great harm to your skin.

Tip #5
Sunbathing is not baking yourself to a crisp laying out in the hot sun all day. It is fine as long as you don’t overdo it. Ignoring your dermatologist’s advice on sunbathing will turn your body so red you will look as if you got caught in a wild fire. Call in the big guns- healing balms and moisturizers- which can moisturize, soothe and repair your skin.

If you’re considering plastic surgery this summer, you cannot afford to take chances. Consult only with the best in business like the Scottsdale Plastic Surgeons, who have an excellent track record of helping people find their beauty quotient.
