Are you looking for a fun way to spend Valentine’s Day weekend without breaking the bank? Treat your significant other to an affordable getaway on Allegiant!
We recently traveled from Phoenix / Mesa (AZA) to Oakland / San Francisco (OAK) on Allegiant and were amazed with the low fares and great service. We just checked rates on the same route from 2/12 to 2/14 and found a roundtrip ticket for $101.00!
Wondering what you can do in a weekend? Here’s a recap of our trip to San Francisco:
During our weekend getaway, we stayed at Hotel Nikko – a boutique hotel located in the heart of San Francisco. The accommodations were fabulous and the hotel is just steps from Union Square (a fun spot to hangout).
Hotel Nikko also offers a great breakfast buffet at Restaurant ANZU with traditional american and asian breakfast options.
We were excited to learn Sonoma & Napa were only an hour north of San Francisco so we booked a wine tasting tour with Green Dream Tours to visit two wineries in Sonoma and one winery in Napa.
The wine tour was a nice romantic activity for the trip and is perfect activity for Valentine’s Day! The Combo Wine Tour of Sonoma and Napa includes a stop at Oxbow Public Market in Napa which offers a variety of delicious and gourmet food options.
If you haven’t heard, San Francisco is known for having several restaurants with amazing clam chowder. We had the most amazing New England Clam Chowder at a restaurant called the Blue Mermaid Chowder House & Bar. We recommend skipping everything else on the menu and having the chowder in a bread bowl. The restaurant is located in the Fisherman’s Wharf area so you’ll get to see another fun area of San Francisco.
