Arizona Cocktail Week Starts February 13th!

The 2016 AZCW will pair perennial favorites like the Cocktail Carnival, Last Slinger Standing bartender competition and Top Bars of America pop-up speakeasies with all-new cocktail creations

What do you get when you combine a resort-wide Cocktail Carnival with live bartending competitions and pop-up versions of the nation’s most famous speakeasies, then stir in a heaping helping of nine full days of fun in the Arizona sun? You get the 5thannual Arizona Cocktail Week, which is bellying back up to the bar on February 13 – 21, 2016. Yes, Arizona‘s only statewide salute to cocktails and cocktail culture is back for another round – bigger, better and boozier than ever with an expanded nine-day schedule.*

But that’s just a sip of all the tasty tipples and creative concoctions on-tap for the 2016 AZCW, including a new-and-improved Last Slinger Standing bartending competition and even more exciting pop-up bars at the Top Bars of America.Highlighted once again by the all-day, all-night Cocktail Carnival at the Hotel Valley Ho on Saturday, February 13, 2016, this poolside shindig will showcase dozens of vendor booths, carnival games, circus performers and countless cocktail tastings. Then there’s the return of the Southwest’s premier bartending competition, the Last Slinger Standing Event, asArizona‘s best bartenders measure their pours against the best from other national United States Bartender’s Guild (USBG) Chapters, as well as compete in the returning Flair category, with bartenders tossing and twirling bottles, glasses and anything else they can get their hands on.

Arizona‘s most spirited week will also feature an expanded lineup of both nationally renowned and locally grown mixologists leading interactive tastings and educational seminars (which are open to both industry members and the general public, and are expected to sell out again). Speaking of returning favorites, Artisanal Spirit & CocktailMarket will also be back, showcasing the finest in local cocktail products, small-batch bitters, farm-fresh ingredients, demos and tastings in an appealing farmer’s market-style format. Plus, all week long, guests can once again enjoy Imbibe & Dine cocktail and food pairing dinners at restaurants across Arizona.
