Renting a houseboat can be a daunting thought if you’ve never operated one. To help the everyday person feel comfortable about renting a houseboat, Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas is offering an amazing package to teach you everything you need to know.

For only $299, you can spend a weekend at Lake Powell Resort and get hands-on training aboard both a houseboat and powerboat! Check out the details below for more info.

WHO: Novice, inexperienced or first-time houseboaters.

WHAT: Houseboating 101 is a fun, affordable weekend designed to show novice houseboaters how easy and feasible a houseboating vacation can be. The classes teach boaters how to navigate a 75-foot craft in a 6-hour training session inclusive of the piloting both a houseboat and powerboat, beaching and anchoring a houseboat, towing and securing a powerboat as well as boating rules and safety.

WHY: Spring marks the beginning of warm weather and thoughts of vacations and water excursions. Lake Powell is a popular destination for houseboating, but the thought of navigating a houseboat solo can be daunting, so for the seventh consecutive year, Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas is offering an Intro to Houseboating class. Fall dates also are available.

COST: Training weekends include a two-night stay at Lake Powell Resort, daily breakfast for two and box lunch for two in addition to the hands-on training aboard both a houseboat and powerboat for only $299 including taxes.

Also offered is a $50 fuel credit to those who take an online bating safety course prior to arriving as well as piloting and docking services for those renters uncomfortable with maneuvering the boat.
