Orangetheory Fitness Arizona will present a check in the amount of $29,161 to local non-profit organization GiGi’s Playhouse at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. The press and public are invited to attend the check presentation event taking place at GiGi’s Playhouse, located on 9160 E. Shea Blvd. in Scottsdale, after a morning playhouse session for the children directly benefitting from the donation.
GiGi’s Playhouse, a non-profit organization with 24 locations nationwide, provides its services to individuals with Down syndrome and their families, fully paid for through charitable donations. The funds raised through Orangetheory Fitness’ statewide “Dri Tri” fitness event will help sponsor therapeutic programs and supportive services offered to children, teens and adults with Down syndrome. Orangetheory Fitness’ donation will cover costs of resources and materials needed to continue offering free programs at the Playhouse.
“Our team is honored to be making a contribution to an organization that has such a passion for and commitment to truly making a difference,” said Orangetheory Fitness Arizona Developer Becky Renner. “We are grateful to everyone who participated in the Dri Tri event and so generously donated to this important cause. We are looking forward to making this fundraiser an annual event.”
Orangetheory Fitness, known for its high-energy group classes, held a dry triathlon (“Dri Tri”) at its 19 Valley studios during the weekend of August 21, 2015. Throughout the three-day charity event, participants competed for best time in a trio of workouts including a 2,000-meter row, 300 body weight exercises and a 5K treadmill run. “Dri Tri” participants donated $25 per challenge and 100% of proceeds from the event benefitted GiGi’s Playhouse.
