Super Bowl XLIX will be held in Glendale on February 1st but the festivities kickoff on January 24th. Here’s a list of events open to the public:
The National Football League will host the 22nd annual NFL Experience at the Phoenix Convention Center. The NFL Experience is the most exciting continuous event surrounding Super Bowl XLIX – pro football’s interactive theme park offering participatory games, displays, entertainment attractions, youth football clinics and free autograph sessions from current & former NFL players. A list of player appearances will be posted on SuperBowl.com on January 16th. Ticket prices: Adults – $35, Children under 12 – $20.
Scottsdale Fan Fest & ESPN Zone (Jan 26th – Feb 1st)
ESPN has chosen Scottsdale Fashion Square (7014-590 E. Camelback Road) as its production headquarters for Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona. In all, more than 120 hours of ESPN television and radio coverage and other related content across the company’s multimedia platforms will originate from Scottsdale. ESPN will utilize three outdoor stages and a 24-by-48-foot demo field at Scottsdale Fashion Square (north side between Goldwater Boulevard and Scottsdale Road), Fan Fest Scottsdale, a week-long celebration offering food, fashion and football, that is free and open to the public will be adjacent to ESPN’s broadcast location throughout Super Bowl week. http://bit.ly/1AQgv3n
Verizon Super Bowl Central (Jan 28th – Feb 1st)
Verizon Super Bowl Central (VSBC) will take over and transform Downtown Phoenix into the epicenter of Super Bowl activities with 1 million visitors expected to attend. The free, family-friendly, football-themed outdoor fan campus will be the hub of fan, sponsor, media and NFL activities for the week leading up to Super Bowl XLIX. By linking several key downtown streets and venues, the campus will create a unique and centralized experience for fans and guests. Nightly fireworks at 10PM.
DirecTV Super Fan Festival (Jan 28th – Jan 30th)
DirecTV is hosting the Super Fan Festival in Glendale at the Pendergast Family Farm in Glendale (Arizona’s Sports and Entertainment District, across from University of Phoenix Stadium). Opening day lineup on Wednesday, January 28 features KNIX artist Zac Brown Band on the Super Fan Stage and Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt and The Cadillac Three in the HGTV Lodge. Other acts include Calvin Harris on Thursday, January 29 with Magic! Imagine Dragons, Jason Derulo and Snoop Dogg on Friday, January 30 and more to be announced. http://bit.ly/1wcgtOd
Taste of NFL (Jan 31st)
As one of the highlight parties of the Super Bowl, Taste of the NFL brings together more than 45 top national chefs and about three dozen NFL players in a fundraiser for food banks. This year, organizers hope to fund more than 6 million meals across America. It’s an intimate meet, greet and eat, where you can chat with and get autographs from your favorite athletes, including 15 members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Night Before Concert (Jan 31st)
