This gastro-lounge is breaking all the rules to deliver food & cocktail masterpieces. Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, Blue Hound Kitchen offers an unforgettable dining experience that will awaken your senses.

Let’s talk about Blue Hound’s Lawless Cocktail… this tobacco infused cocktail is a true work of art. As a girl who loves whiskey, I was intrigued by this cocktail and had to give it a try. I was blown-away when the server arrived at the table with this cocktail.


As the server lifted the glass and the smoke dissipated, I saw the remnants of the tobacco in the pan. The waiter then poured the mixture of Dickel rye whikey, truck stop bitters and wormwood liqueur into the glass. Talk about presentation! I was surprised that the subtle infusion of tobacco did not dissipate. Overall, the flavors were brilliant!


For those of you who might want a lighter drink and don’t like tobacco, the Hayburner is a great option. This refreshing craft-cocktail features Az copper city, calvados, spiced pineapple syrup, lemon and mint.


The Charred Pork Belly Sliders had the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Somehow the geniuses at Blue Hound Kitchen turned a traditionally boring slider into something gourmet.


Five Words: Order The Deviled Fried Oysters!!! This sensational appetizer is breaded oysters that are crisped to perfection and served over grits. An unlikely pairing of food that will have your taste buds dancing. If you order any appetizer, I highly recommend these.

Where do I start with the Young and Famous cocktail? This craft-cocktail has the perfect balance of opposing flavors to create a cocktail sensation. Somehow the combination of famous grouse, house mulled wine, lemon, demerara and fernet rinse just works.

For my entree, I had the short ribs paired with the young and famous cocktail… the combination was fantastic. The short ribs were served over grits with roasted vegetables.


The Roasted Cauliflower was cooked to perfection. Served with pistachios, capers and currents.

I’m a huge fan of salted carmel. The Pineapple Upside-Down cake is served in a salted carmel sauce and torched on the top with a heaping scoop of ice cream.   The combination of flavors, the crispiness of the outside and the moist inside is fantastic… a perfect dessert for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Clearly traditional food rules don’t apply here… it’s what makes the food & cocktails so brilliant and exciting. Don’t wait until you are in downtown phoenix to try this restaurant… your taste buds with thank you!
