I visited Sanctuary for lunch & a spa treatment last week. I was blown away by the stunning views and the tranquility throughout the resort. It’s surprising how this luxurious hideaway blends into the ageless mountain so seamlessly and transforms Arizona into paradise.
This luxury boutique resort & spa is situated on 53 breathtaking acres of lush desert on the north slope of Camelback Mountain overlooking Paradise Valley. The resort offers views of Camelback Mountain, the Praying Monk, the Phoenix Black Mountains, Four Peaks and McDowell Mountain.
Elements is the resort’s main restaurant. You can enjoy award winning cuisine with stunning views of the mountains. Renowned Food Network celebrity chef and Iron Chef America winner, Sanctuary’s Executive Chef Beau MacMillan inspires his staff with his passion for fresh ingredients.
Elements Deck offers outdoor dining with stunning view of Camelback Mountain and views of the other mountain ranges overlooking the pool. This area was recently renovated from a lounge to offer additional outdoor dining options.
The infinity edge pool is gorgeous. This pool is only open to adults on the weekends to maintain a tranquil environment. Guests can enjoy a poolside menu that includes craft cocktails and healthier food options. If you’re looking for more privacy, the resort offers several smaller pools throughout the property.
The indoor/outdoor treatment room was a real treat. During my facial, I chose to have the doors & curtains open to reveal the breathtaking setting and the Spa’s relaxing meditation garden. Although I didn’t get to enjoy the scenery, the sound of running water and the light breeze were soothing. The sanctuary jewel facial left my skin looking amazing and bright.
While you are at Sanctuary, you should try a craft cocktail. Adjacent to elements is jade bar, featuring a secluded outdoor patio with unparalleled views and a fire bowl for gathering on cool desert evenings. Jade bar offers an extensive selection of wines by the glass, innovative and exotic drinks and a full dinner menu. Visit on a weekend evening to enjoy live music!
If you live in the Valley and have never been to Sanctuary, you must visit. This privately owned resort is full of charm, character and history. Sanctuary is hands-down one of the best resorts in Arizona.
